For Final Concert Of Season
For Final Concert Of Season
The Pickup Band will perform in the final Music in the Garden event at Boxerwood this Friday, starting at 6 p.m. This is a rain date for the high-energy rock and country band, which was originally scheduled to perform in July. The five-piece group is a mix of local and not so local talent. Rockbridge natives Phil Holstein and Rocky Smith play guitars and sing. John Good on all things percussion has called the county home since 1993. Leading the pack are Kenton Kody on guitars, fiddle, banjo, mandolin and vocals, and Gloria Lewayne, who does most of the vocal work, along with the occasional guitar and tambourine. Admission is free for Boxerwood members, $5 per person for nonmembers. Kids under 18 and parking are free. Pass-the-hat proceeds go to the musicians. The gate opens at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking. Meals can also be purchased on-site from a local food truck. 09/20/2023 12:00 AM
