Memorial Day Ceremony 2026

A short video of the 2026 Memorial Day ceremony in front of the Veterans Memorial at Courthouse Square in downtown Lexington. 

The national anthem is played by Peter Del Vecchio on trumpet. The speakers are retired Col. Mark Bryant - president of the George C. Marshall Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), Rev. Anita Mays Lucord of Trinity United Methodist Church, and Lexington Mayor Frank Friedman. An honor guard from E.C. Glass High School Air Force JROTC, led by Cadet Lt. Col Teagan McKim, presented the colors.
