Another School Year Starts
The familiar yellow school buses are making their rounds on Rockbridge area roads this week. Children lugging backpacks are being seen in abundance waiting at bus stops and traipsing along local roads. Motorists are advised to be extra cautious when they encounter the children and yellow buses.

VMI Receives Pell Grant Funds
Maj. Gen. Cedric T. Wins ’85, superintendent of Virginia Military Institute, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) that provides VMI nearly $4 million over four years to boost enrollment and success of low-income and Pell Grant-eligible cadets at the Institute.
