The Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors on Monday scheduled a public hearing for Sept. 11 to consider approval of a resolution authorizing a Virginia Public School Authority bond issuance this fall to finance the renovations/expansion construction project of the Rockbridge Innovation Center.

MGCC Opens Temporary Center
Dr. John J. Rainone, president of Mountain Gateway Community College, cuts the ribbon Tuesday for MGCC’s temporary Workforce Development Center in the McCormick building at 2045 Forest Ave. in Buena Vista, which will welcome students on Monday. Among those joining him for the ceremony were Buena Vista City Manager Jason Tyree, Lexington City Council member Marylin Alexander, County Administrator Spencer Suter, Skip Ramsey of Ramsey Real Estate, William “Billy” Oulds with technical services at MGCC, and Tony McFaddin, member of MGCC’s local board and treasurer for the Rockbridge Odd Fellows Society, on whose behalf he presented a $10,000 donation. This facility will serve as MGCC’s manufacturing and workforce training center while construction continues on the Wilson Workforce Development Center, in the former Courtesy Ford Dealership building, which is expected to open to students in 2025.
