Ruth Huffman Farris, 95, died Jan. 29

Ruth Huffman Farris, 95, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, in the Shenandoah Valley Health & Rehab Center. 

She was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Buena Vista, a daughter of Jerry Melvin Huffman and Edith Frances McCullough Huffman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward "Eddie" Farris; sister, Mary Madeline Allen; and son-in-law, Paul Baker.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy F. Baker; grandson, Jeff Baker and wife Melisa and their children, Brittany and Dalton, and grandson, Chuck Baker and wife Brooke and their children, Katelyn, Jayla, and Charlie; two great-great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Baker James; and special friends, Pam and Tammy.  A special thanks is extended to Sandra Anderson.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Adam Williams, the Rev. W. David Bain and the Rev. Bob Manuel.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
