Florence Jean Parker, 85 of Lexington died Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at her home. Born May 14, 1938, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of Tucker Parker Sr. and Mabel Potter Parker. In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her brothers, Earnest Houston Parker Sr. Tucker Parker Jr. and Willard Parker, as well as a nephew, Earnest H. “Hughie” Parker Jr. Florence was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are her nieces of Richmond, Barbara P. Atkinson (Todd) Betty P. Sorrell (Linwood) and Brenda Seay; and her devoted great-nieces of Richmond, Suzanne Rainey and Elizabeth Parker. She had a special relationship with her cousin, Joyce Davis, along with many cousins, friends and great-nieces and nephews. Special thanks to loving caregivers Missy Noel and Kay Dean and her hospice team. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery by Leon Wilhelm dedicating the grave. Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
