Bobby Gene Cash, 88, of Stuarts Draft died May 14

Bobby Gene Cash, 88, of Stuarts Draft passed away peacefully Sunday, May 14, 2023.

He was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Covington to Jeffery Richard and Josephine Douglas Cash.

Throughout his life he had many jobs, from wrapping silverware at Natural Bridge Hotel and making candy to his favorite job - owner and operator of his own business, Pioneer Electric Contractors Inc. Bob started Pioneer Electric in 1974, working out of a van. The business grew throughout the years and his son Jeff quickly began to learn his trade. Bob and Jeff worked side by side until 2014 when Bob retired. Jeff and his son Spencer will carry on his business legacy.

In his retirement, Bob enjoyed golf, playing cards, working in the yard, and playing with his grandchildren.

                Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister and four brothers.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen Cash of Stuarts Draft; son, Jeffery Richard Cash and wife Tammy of Lexington; stepdaughter, Kelly Butler and husband Kenny; grandchildren, Alexis, Meg and Spencer Cash of Lexington, and Nathan and Emma Butler of Stuarts Draft; a great-grandson, Cash Harland Black; brother, Jack; as well as many loving family members and friends.

                The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Shenandoah for their excellent care to Bob.

Per Bob’s wishes there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
