Blanche Virginia Harlow Cash, 97, widow of James Boyd Cash Sr., passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Brookdale Staunton.

Blanche Virginia Harlow Cash, 97, widow of James Boyd Cash Sr., passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Brookdale Staunton.

Blanche was born on June 14, 1925, in Middlebrook to the late Paul Thomas Shields and Antha Virginia Fox Harlow.

She was a devoted member of Old Providence A.R. Presbyterian Church in Steeles Tavern.

She is survived by her son, James Boyd Cash Jr. and his wife Jeanie of Fairfield; her daughters, Beverley Ann Cash Coffey of Greenville and Rebecca “Becky” Lou Cash Moomau of Staunton; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Phillips of Kokomo, Ind., Renee Moomau-Shiflett and her husband Doug of Staunton, Casey Cash of Greenville, Justin Coffey and his wife Ellen of Staunton, Rebecca Cash of Fairfield, and Christie Cash of Fairfield; her great-grandchildren, Maddison Cash, Cameron Armstrong, and Andrew Ralston; her brother, Donald “Donnie” Laverne Harlow; her sisters,

Larry Belle Harlow, Pauline “Polly” Shields Harlow Collier and her husband Harold, and Edith Elizabeth Harlow; and a large number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Wilson Campbell Coffey; her brothers, Lyle Linwood, Harry Thomas, and William “Bill” Boyd Harlow; and her sisters, Mary Catherine Harlow Lowry and Phyllis Ray Harlow Campbell.

A graveside service was conducted on Monday, May 15, at the Old Providence A.R. Presbyterian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Patrick Malphrus.

The family would like to thank the special folks at Brookdale Staunton for their mother’s wonderful care for the last five years of her life, as well as the Hospice of the Shenandoah for all their aid and attention.

Memorial contributions may be made to Old Providence A.R. Presbyterian Church (1005 Spottswood Road, Steeles Tavern, VA 24476).

Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.
