Benjamin Ernest Austin, 78, of Glasgow died May 23

Benjamin Ernest Austin, 78, of Glasgow died Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Lewis Gale Medical Center.

Born Dec. 19, 1944, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Paul David Austin and Bessie Pearl Thomas Austin.

Benjamin was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and retired as a supervisor for Asplundh Tree Service.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Mary Moyers; child, Ernest Austin; brother, Lewis Austin; sister, Minnie Cochran; grandchildren, Mercedes Austin, Kimberly McKinney, Noah Austin, Nicholas Austin and Alayna Austin; and great-grandchildren, Tyler McKinney and Olivia Austin.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Pastor Mike Moyers and Bill Radford. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery.

Family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Harrison Funeral Home.
