Five-hundred people attended this year’s Souper Bowl, a fundraiser for Washington and Lee University’s Campus Kitchen Backpack Program, which provides nonperishable food for needy children. Recently, I played in two honor bands. On Jan. 28-29, I went to the Central Highlands All-Area Band. Students from Rockbridge County, Bath County, Allegheny County, Buena Vista, and Lexington auditioned in November to be in this band. The event was all-day long at Rockbridge County High School.
