The General Assembly’s 2023 session is heading down the home-stretch, with just 10 days remaining before the scheduled adjournment date of Feb. 25. There is a $1 billion question looming over legislators – whether to approve tax cuts of this magnitude, or to boost spending by a similar amount for education, mental health and other basic services. After more than a month of working with representatives from Echelon Resources, Inc., the Spotswood Building Committee is presenting the new design for the proposed development on Spotswood Drive to the Lexington City Council at its meeting on Feb. 16. The changes in the design, shown in a view of the front of the building from the proposed parking lot (above) and from the corner of the building on Spotswood Drive (left), are primarily to the exterior aesthetics of the building. Council will review the proposed design and continue the public hearing on Echelon’s application for a conditional use permit to develop the property to council’s March 2 meeting. 02/14/2023 11:00 PM
