At First Cyber Day
At First Cyber Day
Students from elementary school to college were among the participants in the first Community Cyber Day at Natural Bridge Hotel grounds Saturday, sponsored by the AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications Electronic Association) Rockbridge Shenandoah Chapter. Students in Natural Bridge Elementary’s after-school program “Dreams” engaged in several activities, including flying drones (seen in the top two photos), while cadets in the VMI Drone Club demonstrated their knowledge (seen in photo at far left and immediate left). Tim and Karen Tingler of Quest King Enterprises brought their aqua drone as well (seen in photos below and center below). Among the vehicles on display was the state police’s armored personnel carrier (at left bottom). (Stephanie Mikels Blevins photos) 05/17/2023 12:00 AM

Another huge crowd turned out for the annual plant sale conducted by the Rockbridge County Council of Garden Clubs Saturday at Hopkins Green. The sale, which first started in 2003, raises funds for the individual clubs and for the council, benefiting various projects in the area. (Stephanie Mikels Blevins photos) 05/17/2023 12:00 AM
