Etta Patricia Green, age 82, of Buena Vista, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at her home.

She was born March 27, 1944, in Tallahatta Springs, Ala., a daughter of the late Albert Gray and Annie Mae (Phillips) Rivers. On Feb. 3, 1961, she married Donald “Donnie” William Green, who preceded her in death.

A great cook, Mrs. Green retired from the Southern Seminary College kitchen department. She was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed watching “American Idol” and “The Voice,” as well as listening to country music. Above all, she will be remembered for being a mother to many and putting the needs of others before her own – always acting with genuine compassion without expecting anything in return.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Angela “Angie” Green; great-grandson, Jacob Argenbright; brothers, Alvin Leon Rivers, Rodney Smith; and sister, Ann Leverne Rivers Churchwell.

She is survived by her son, Daryl Williams Green and fiancée Julie Fawks of Buena Vista; granddaughter, Christy Green of Buena Vista; grandson, Derek Argenbright of Leeds, Ala.; great-grandson, Dillon; sisters, Donna Ladnier of Citronelle, Ala., and Georgette Williams of Citronelle, Ala.; special nephew, Wayne Edward Conner of Millboro; as well as special brother-in-law, Ollie M. Green of Buena Vista.

A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.
