George Harold Warden Jr., 77, of Lexington, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at LewisGale Medical Center. Born Oct. 15, 1948, in West Virginia, he was a son of the late George Harold Warden Sr. and Ora Mae Allen Warden. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Randall C. Warden. George graduated from VMI in 1970 and was active duty in the U.S. Army (1970-1976). He became the pastor of Bible Church at Rockbridge in 1992 and was still the acting pastor until his passing. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Pamela Straub Warden; brother, Benny A Warden; two brothers-in-law, Gary K. Straub and E. Wayne Straub (and their families); and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at the Bible Church at Rockbridge with J.T. Cobbler officiating. Burial will be private at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bible Church at Rockbridge, P.O.
