Volunteer Training Sessions Jan. 12 at Jackson House

Volunteer Training Sessions Jan. 12 at Jackson House

The Jackson House Museum is seeking volunteers to assist in the museum gift shop.

Volunteering at the local historic site provides unique opportunities to interact with visitors from across the country, promote local history, and gain experience working in a museum as well as in retail, a spokeswoman said.

Two volunteer information sessions will be held at the Jackson House Museum on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Each session is expected to last an hour.

All interested volunteers should plan to attend a session, and need to RSVP to Pamela Kouame at (540) 464-7704 or [email protected].

If you are unavailable to attend either session, call (540) 464-7704 to schedule a time to meet with a museum team member.

The Jackson House Museum is located at 8 E. Washington St. in Lexington. To learn more about the museum, visit www.vmi.edu/jhm.
