The Rockbridge Baths Farmers Market will begin its 2023 season on Saturday, June 3, at 9 a.m. and continue each Saturday from 9 until 11 a.m. during June, July and August at the pavilion of the Rockbridge Baths Fire Department.

Shoppers can buy locally grown vegetables, fruit, baked goods, crafts, eggs, honey, jams, jellies and other products.

This market features not only items for sale but also a Community Sharing Table where fruits and vegetables are free. Items for the Sharing Table are donated by local gardeners and by the Rockbridge Area Relief Association (RARA). Workers from Washington and Lee University’s Campus Kitchen bring the produce from RARA and help to staff the table. All items that remain on the Sharing Table at 11 a.m. are donated to RARA.

Persons who wish to sell items should send an email to Joan Whitesell at [email protected] or call (540) 3485084. Local residents can sell their goods by becoming a vendor. For those who don’t want to be a vendor, Whitesell will sell the goods for the resident (and give him or her the payment).

Persons who wish to provide free vegetables or fruit for the Community Sharing Table should call Malcolm Brownlee at (540) 348-6588 or bring their items to the Rockbridge Baths Volunteer Fire Department pavilion on Saturday morning. They can also bring their items to Whitesell’s or Brownlee’s homes on Thursday or Friday.

The Rockbridge Baths Farmers Market is organized and sponsored by the Rockbridge Baths Community Organization.
