PHYLLIS FITZGERALD

Phyllis Withrow Fitzgerald, 78, of Lexington was welcomed home Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023.

She was born June 2, 1944, in Lexington, a daughter of Phil Withrow and Elizabeth Smith Calhoun (John).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Elvin Fitzgerald, and brother, Jerry Withrow (Doris).

She was a member of the Oronoco Church of the Brethren and retired from Schewels Furniture as their inventory control manager. Phyllis loved camping, crocheting, bird watching and spending time with grandchildren and granddogs.

Surviving are her children, Pamela F. Flint (Adam) of Lexington, Richard Fitzgerald (Linda) of Christiansburg and Michael Floyd (Stephanie) of Winchester; four brothers, Johnny Calhoun (Kathy), David Calhoun, Gary Calhoun and Ed Calhoun (Kim) all of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Joshua Aaron Floyd (Chloe), Nicholas Spencer Floyd (Lauren), Ivana Hope Fitzgerald and Casey Jacob Floyd.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Arnold Bradley. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Harrison Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Oronoco Church of the Brethren, 7742 Lexington Turnpike, Vesuvius, VA 24483.
