Kerrs Creek

On Sunday, May 21, New Monmouth Presbyterian Church enjoyed special music from the kids’ praise team. Laura Hotinger and Carson led the children in singing “Holy Spirit.” Leila Hackett, Ambrose Clark, Clementine Clark and Marigold Clark all sang solos, and Cordelia Clark accompanied on the keyboard. The youth group, led by Tim and Janeen Welsh, met after church for lunch and fellowship, and they delivered flowers to shut-ins.

A cemetery cleanup morning took place on May 10. Thanks to all who helped out! Our next celebration of communion will be June 4. The Witness Service committee collected school supplies and filled 60 school bags to help out communities in need. Three spare bags were donated to Central Elementary School.

Next week, May 28 is Pentecost Sunday so wear red! It is also Memorial Day weekend, and so we change to our summer schedule. Worship on Sunday will be at 10 a.m. with adult Sunday school at 9 a.m.

For any youths in the community looking for community service hours, opportunities are available to help with keeping the cemetery beautiful; volunteers are needed to occasionally clean up limbs that have fallen from the trees. Contact Rachel Clark ([email protected]) if you would like to help. New Monmouth also has an opening for a paid nursery worker on Sunday mornings, for 2.5 hours each Sunday. Contact Rachel Clark for more information.

Children preschool age through rising sixth grade are invited to participate in New Monmouth’s vacation Bible school “Out of Egypt” June 5-8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. VBS is free of charge and dinner is included. We have volunteer opportunities for youth and adults as well.

New Monmouth will join the Moore family in celebrating Bob Moore’s birthday on Saturday, June 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Duff Hall. Birthday cards for Bob are most welcome!
