JAMES GRAY

James Richard Gray, 77, of Lexington died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at his home.

He was born Nov. 18, 1946, in Louisville, Ky., a son of the late Richard Gray and Christine Gray.

James retired from JMU. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Lynda Gray; son, Greg Hancock (Sarah); siblings, Carolyn Crane, Patsy Cochran and John Gray; and one granddaughter, Meghan Hancock.

Per his request no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Lexington Fire Department 708 S. Main Street, Lexington, VA 24450; SPCA, P.O. Box 528, Lexington, VA 24450; or Intrepid Hospice, 427 Lee Jackson Hwy, Suite A3, Staunton, VA 24401.
