Glasgow’s town council met on Jan. 10 with three newly elected members. The six members of Council are now Natalie Harris, Marcie Hill, Brandall Branch, Lisa Rogers, Tom Camden and Andi Bradley, who is senior member of the Council, and the new vice mayor. Congratulations to all.

If a citizen wishes to bring something before the Council, please notify Town Hall a week before the regular meeting (on the second Tuesday of the month) and so you may be added to the agenda. The public is welcome to attend a regular meeting; however, interrupting with your own comments during the meeting will not be allowed. You must wait until the time for public comment at the end of the meeting. This is part of the new rules of conduct meetings adopted by Council.

Guest speaker this past Sunday at Glasgow Baptist Church was the Rev. Michael Curry. For the next two weeks, former interim pastor, the Rev. Larry Ross of Bedford, will be delivering the morning messages. A search for a full-time pastor has not begun at this time.

Calling all artisans, crafters and bakers: a spring craft event is planned for Saturday, May 6, at the Glasgow Farmers’ Market. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.

Three bands have been contracted for music events this summer in June, July and August. The regional fair will return in September.

A new roof has been put on the Community Center in north Glasgow, and now they will be getting a new, safer pavilion in the back for future events.
