May 18 - The Virginia State Police are investigating a death that occurred along Interstate 81 Wednesday afternoon in northern Rockbridge County.
According to a VPS spokesman, a vehicle was stopped by the Rockbridge County Sheriff's Office for a traffic violation. As the deputies exited the vehicle, it is reported the subject took his own life. It is reported the subject was a wanted person.
The stop occurred at the 203 mile marker on the northbound side of Intestate 81 at 3:58 p.m.
