Lexington Man Stabbed in Overnight Altercation

 

Jan. 17 - A Lexington man has suffered a life-threatening stab wound following an overnight altercation with a female.

According to a press release from the Lexington Police Department this afternoon, police responded to a South Jefferson Street apartment for an unknown situation at 2:02 this morning. Units arrived and located an adult male victim suffering from a stab wound and police officers immediately rendered first aid to the victim.

The preliminary investigation indicates a physical altercation between the victim and Angelica Long-Stores, who are known to each other.

The male victim, a 40-year-old Lexington resident, was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Long-Stores, a 33-year-old female, was arrested and charged with felony malicious wounding.

This remains an active criminal investigation and the Lexington Police Department requests anyone with information about this incident to contact Detective Lewis at (540) 462-3723.

As this is an isolated incident, there is no reason to believe the public is in any danger, according to the police statement.
