He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Bessie Goodbar; and brother, Ralph Eugene Goodbar.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Amanda Goodbar; daughters, Amber Goodbar and Aubrey Goodbar; grandchildren, Mackenzie Goodbar, Kendall Painter and Braylon Painter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Marilyn Goodbar, and Jerry and Christine Goodbar; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Maynard Nuchols; mother-in-law, Brenda Dudley; one niece and numerous nephews; and pet companion, Charlie.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home.
