Rockbridge Regional Library in Lexington will host author Melanie Forde on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 3 p.m. for a presentation about her process to become a published novelist, a summary of her books, and a reading. A book signing will follow.
Forde, has published five novels. She professes to have mined her own family stories to develop “character driven narratives featuring misfits struggling to reinvent themselves.” The settings range from Quebec to Boston and the southern highlands.
Forde worked as a professional ghostwriter for years, then published her first novel, “Hillwilla,” in 2014. She now lives in Bath County, volunteers at Bath County Public Library, and serves as a Bath County representative on the Rockbridge Regional Library board of trustees.
