Joseph Vernell “Nicky” Gilbert, 61, of Buena Vista, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023.
He was born Jan. 5, 1962, in Lexington, the son of the late Claude Edward Gilbert and Mabel “Dee Dee” Mason Moore.
Surviving are his four sons, Lucas S. Gilbert, Joseph S. Gilbert, Jacob A. Gilbert, and Isaiah S. Gilbert; one granddaughter, Scarlett Gilbert; brother, Everett Gilbert; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Buena Vista. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
