Getting off to a slow start and struggling with injuries, the Rockbridge County High School football team suffered a 49-13 road loss to Shenandoah District rival Waynesboro on Friday night.
Waynesboro (1-3 overall, 1-1 district) raced to a 28-0 halftime lead and stayed comfortably ahead the rest of the game. The Wildcats (0-4, 0-2) scored both of their touchdowns in the fourth quarter, on a 19-yard pass from Taylan Tyree to Brenden Staley and on a 4-yard run by John Clements.
The Wildcats will play host to Stuarts Draft (3-1, 2-0) next Friday at 7 p.m. at Prasnicki-Ross Field at Veterans Stadium in Lexington.
