The Effinger Community Revival was held at Lake Robertson in the Nelson Hall Pavilion on Aug. 27. The speaker for the event was Randy Smith with special music provided by Dorsey Hostetter and friends. It was an evening of inspiration, wonderful music, and warm fellowship. Refreshments were enjoyed following the service.
On Sunday, Aug. 30, the Mt. Horeb and Collierstown United Methodist churches held a musical service at the Collierstown United Methodist Church. Mark Jones, who spoke and provided special music during the worship hour, led the service. A time of refreshments and fellowship was enjoyed following the service.
Elder Duaine Fitzgerald spoke at Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s worship service on Sunday, Aug. 30. Following the service the congregation enjoyed the final lemonade on the lawn fellowship time of the summer season. The Sept. 6 worship service was led by Dr. Phil Bailey.
The Collierstown Presbyterian Women’s Night Circle held its first meeting of the 2026-2027 Bible study year on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall. This year’s study is entitled “Women & Identity,” a Life Guide Bible Study by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun and Tracey Bianchi. Area women interested in participating are invited to attend. The evening study is available on Facebook Live from the church’s Facebook page beginning at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month. The Collierstown Presbyterian Women’s 2026 annual school kit campaign was a record-breaking success with 327 school kits being prepared for distribution by Church World Service. This year’s goal of 250 kits was surpassed with an additional 77 kits being made. Many thanks to those who donated items, prepared school kits, and made financial contributions to this year’s campaign. A very special thank you to Louise Tardy for making and donating the canvas tote bags to hold the school kit items.
Rally Day Sunday will be held Sept. 20 beginning at 10:15 in the fellowship hall of the Collierstown Presbyterian Church. A light breakfast will start the day that will encourage members and community friends to reconnect, worship, serve and grow!
