With autumn in the air, Boxerwood Nature Center and Woodland Garden will be hosting a volunteer information session on Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Boxerwood Lodge, 963 Ross Road.
According to a spokesperson, fall is a time when the non-profit environmental education organization needs extra help welcoming visitors, tending the garden, teaching children and other activities. The no-obligation session is for people of all ages, abilities, activity levels, and time availabilities.
During the session, staff will provide a brief history of Boxerwood and share ways to connect. Currently more than 80 volunteers help Boxerwood flourish in a variety of roles each year.
The gathering is free, but registration is requested. Those interested may call (540) 463-2697 or visit the website www.boxerwood.org Refreshments and optional tour of the woodland garden will follow.
