Rockbridge Regional Library will host Books & Brews Book Club at Heliotrope Brewery on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 4 p.m. for a discussion on Barbara Kingsolver’s acclaimed novel “The Poisonwood Bible.”
“The Poisonwood Bible” follows the Price family as they move from Georgia to the Belgian Congo in 1959 when the father, Nathan Price, attempts to establish a church in a culture very different from his own. Told through the perspective of the mother and four daughters, the novel offers readers the chance to consider the historical and cultural issues raised within the pages.
