The Rev. Dr. Bob Copenhaver led this past Sunday’s Holy Eucharist service at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Many thanks to him and to church musicians Courtney VanOsten and Josh Gardner. Thanks also to Anne Henderson for hosting and providing refreshments for coffee hour. Happy birthday to St. John’s member Brandall Branch. Happy 55th anniversary to St. John’s members Joe and Lynn Williams.
Josh and I celebrated our 10th anniversary with a road trip through New England and a four-day stay in Bangor, Maine, a few weeks ago. We rode the Maid of the Mist tour boat at Niagara Falls, visited Sacred Grove in Palmyra, N.Y., toured Acadia National Park via horse-drawn carriage, visited the Salem Witch Museum in Massachusetts, toured Sleepy Hollow near Tarrytown, N.Y., and rode the train into Philadelphia to see Independence Hall. The trip allowed me to bring my states visited total to 45. I adore Maine. We also celebrated with a renewal of vows ceremony and reception at St. John’s this past Saturday. Brandall Branch officiated the ceremony. Josh and I were dressed as Prince Adam and Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” and we incorporated music from “Beauty and the Beast,” “Star Wars,” “Star Trek” and Hawaii’s Israel Kamakawiwo’ole into the ceremony.
