In the last two weeks, we have lost three local people. Please keep their families and friends in your prayers. They were Pastor John Ward, who was pastor of Raphine Christian Church. Please keep the church in your prayers as they move forward. A member of the church, Beverly Fitzgerald, also passed away. She was Keith Fitzgerald’s wife. A graveside service for Dale Fitzgerald, son of Edna and the late Eldon “Til” Fitzgerald, will be this Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Methodist Church in Stuarts Draft. If you’d like to come, please bring a chair. Dale was my first cousin. His craziness and sense of humor will be greatly missed. This Saturday, July 25, there will be a “Christmas in July” sale, at the Vesuvius Community Building, 53 Tye Pine Lane. Hours are 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available. There will be vendors and yard sale items.
Today, after getting home from church, we got half an inch of rain. I sure hope Taylor Hollow Mountain received some of this rain.
I pray that the vacation Bible school at Vesuvius Baptist Church is a big hit this week. The hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
