Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629 Thanks to the Rev. Marina Gopadze for filling in for the Rev. Steve Willis last Sunday at High Bridge Presbyterian Church. He will be absent for another week as he travels with his wife to attend her family reunion in Florida.
Also, thanks to Donna Armentrout for playing all the military songs to recognize our military and veterans at our Fourth of July weekend service. Everyone enjoyed the church picnic after service last Sunday.
Sympathy is extended to our former pastor and family on the sudden passing of his brother, Jim Grimes, of Savannah, Ga.
The Presbyterian Women’s mission for the third quarter will be Natural Bridge Elementary School. Betsy Shepard has a list of the items needed.
Vacation Bible school will be held July 19 after worship at Cave Mountain Lake and ending at 4 p.m. Also, the annual church worship and picnic at Cave Mt. Lake will be on Sunday, Aug. 30.
Afternoon and evening circles will not meet in July. The next meeting will be the first Tuesday in August at 6 p.m.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry board members will celebrate their 30 year anniversary with an open house at 734 McCullough St. on July 18 between 2 to 4 p.m. The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, and close at 11 a.m. They welcome donations of canned vegetables for the month of July.
