Honest Labor will perform on the meadow stage at Boxerwood this Friday, June 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the second concert in this year’s Music in the Garden series.
Honest Labor plays a wide variety of music genres, but centered on the blues. They are all highly accomplished players as individuals, but their music’s focus is not on virtuosity, but on groove, tone, passion, and the rapport between the players. The core members of the band are Billy Friar on guitar and lead vocals, Lee Sauder on harmonicas, and Travis Weaver on bass. You never know who else might be there.
The gate opens at 5:30 p.m. so that early arrivers can meet up with friends to picnic, socialize, or get a bite to eat. A food truck will be serving food for purchase at most of the shows.
Admission to Music in the Garden is free for kids and current Boxerwood members and $5 per adult for nonmembers. There’s no charge for parking in the field. There is dedicated handicapped parking and the terrain is suitable for wheelchairs.
In the event of rain, concerts will be postponed. Consult Boxerwood social media and/or the Boxerwood website for more information, including “iffy” weather updates and food truck posts.
