Thorne, Hoke On Stage Friday
Local musicians Dennis Thorne and Steve Hoke will perform on the meadow stage at Boxerwood this Friday, May 29, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. as the Music in Garden series returns.
Thorne is a Virginia native with a lifelong career in music, beginning in church and expanding to clubs, venues, and stages across the country. With experience both performing and working behind the scenes, he has toured throughout the lower 48 states, bringing an authentic perspective to every show.
Joining him is acclaimed mult i-inst r ument al ist Steve Hoke, a respected performer, teacher, and luthier known for his soulful, virtuosic playing. A former member of Ironhorse, Loco Pony, Walker’s Run and more, Hoke’s style blends country, rock and bluegrass with technical precision and taste.
Musicians take the stage at 6:30 and conclude at 8 p.m. as the sun goes down. The gate opens at 5:30 pm so that early arrivers can meet up with friends to picnic, socialize, or get a bite to eat. A food truck will be serving food for purchase at most of our shows.
Admission to Music in the Garden is free for children and current Boxerwood members and $5 per adult for non-members. There’s no charge for parking in the field. There is dedicated handicapped parking and the terrain is suitable for wheelchairs.
Attendees may bring their own beverages, lawn chairs and blankets. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome as long as owners clean up after them. Pack out your own trash.
