Our Glasgow/Natural Bridge food pantry is celebrating 30 years of service to the community.
The contract with Inboden (IES) for the upgrade and repairs to the wastewater plant is ending and the town has hired Michael Ramsey as the new operator for the plant.
RARO adult mixed league softball will begin on May 27. A meeting with leaders and coaches was held this past Monday to go over rules and regulations and set schedules. Games will be played on Knick Field on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The town’s public works department has been busy sprucing up the hikers’ shelter for this season of hikers coming through. The town is looking to hire a part-time person for 28 hours (3-1/2 days) per week on weekends which includes checking on the wastewater plant.
The new flea market along Blue Ridge Road continues to grow. All picnic tables were used this past Saturday. The market opens at 8 a.m. and runs for about four to five hours. The tables were built by Virginia Military Institute cadets.
There will be a public hearing on June 9 for the new town budget, with adoption scheduled for June 23. The new budget will go into effect in July.
