Glasgow

Carolyn Bradley, (540) 570-0919

We are so thankful for the much needed rain this week.

Glasgow Baptist Church will host the Natural Bridge Ruritan Club for their monthly meeting on May 19 at 6 p.m.

Guest speaker at Glasgow Baptist this past Sunday was Randy Spencer, who heads the pulpit supply program at Liberty University. He was accompanied by his wife, whom he presented with a bouquet of flowers and a card for Mother’s Day, and, a birthday card as May 10 was also her birthday. He also delivered an inspirational message to the congregation. All mothers present were given a long-stem carnation at the conclusion of the service.

It looked like the second week of the town’s flea and farmers market on Blue Ridge Road was a big success. The hours were changed to 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come out this Friday and check out the vendors, or come as a vendor. First-come, first-served to get a picnic table and no fee to set up.

According to the flyer that was sent out in the local water bill, the first “free” market will be held on Thursday, May 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. on McCulloch Street, across from the food pantry, during distribution. This is weather permitting. If you have something you don’t need, and wish to donate for this, it can be dropped off at Town Hall during business hours.
