Inaugural Run 4 Woods Creek Raises Funds For Trail Improvements

Inaugural Run 4 Woods Creek Raises Funds For Trail Improvements

The inaugural Run 4 Woods Creek drew 27 participants on Saturday morning, raising about $1,600 for improvements to the Woods Creek Trail. There were 32 participants registered, organized by the Friends of Woods Creek, a volunteer organization that is part of Rockbridge Conservation. The moderately hilly 4-mile race started and ended at the creek bridge near Waddell Elementary School and turned around at the Historic Miller House Museum in Jordans Point Park. Race director Dave Agnor said the money will be used to buy materials for the trail, including better and smaller gravel. ABOVE, Weston Via (232), Patrick Walters (208) and Yates Webb (203) lead runners at the start of the race. BELOW LEFT, Blake Shester crosses the finish line in first place in 30 minutes, 33.67 seconds. BELOW RIGHT, Isaac Wayne Owen (202) and Eric Eichelberger (211) lead a group of runners at the start.
