High Bridge Presbyterian Church will observe Scholarship Sunday on Sunday, May 17. The Confirmation Class will return to normal schedule this Sunday. The new members will join the church on May 24, which is also Pentecost Sunday. Worship begins at 10 a.m. for the summer months.
Visitors this past Mothers Day included Suzanne Tolley of Roanoke, Dianne Rakes of Salem and Doris Trussell of Northern Virginia. Tom and Gwynne Newton attended church with Don and Jeanne Jeffer, along with Don’s mother, Jeannette Jeffer of Richmond.
The Presbyterian Women’s mission for the second quarter is Lisa’s House. Donations can be dropped into the box at the narthex at church or delivered to Lisa’s House. Betsy Shepherd is the Mission Chairperson and will have a list of items needed.
The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, and close at 11 a.m. They welcome donations of peanut butter and jelly for the month of May.
