‘Think About What Easter Really Means’

March 20, 2026 Editor, The News-Gazette: We are nearing one of the most crucial events in bible history, the crucifixion and resurrection of our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His rising from the tomb gave us the promise of salvation by believing He is the true Son of God and will forgive us for our sins when we believe and trust Him.

We can believe we are living in the last days if we watch the news and read the bible and compare them both. But you must read the bible to be able to compare the events. Read Matthew chapter 24 and you will see what I am writing about. This makes it all very clear.

It is time to get serious about where we will spend eternity, with or without Christ.

We don’t hear much about the rapture of the church anymore to get us out of the tribulation period that will happen before the Lord returns to earth again.

We hear so much anymore about people committing suicide thinking that will solve their problems. But it won’t. The soul does not die when the body does; it goes back to the God who gave it to us. It will live on forever, one place or the other. Your choice has to be made before death to determine where to spend eternity. There is no second chance. So please think about what Easter really means and celebrate it for its true meaning. God gave His Son so we could be forgiven and have eternal life with Him. That is what it is all about.
