The postseason honors continued to roll in for the Parry McCluer High School boys basketball team last week.
Two members of the squad that finished with a 22-5 record and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class 1 state tournament earned allstate honors from the Virginia High School League. Langston Cook was named to the all-state first team, while Nathan Glass was selected to the second team.
Cook, a junior guard who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark this season and became PM’s all-time leading scorer, led the Blues in scoring this winter, tallying 751 points over the 27 games, an average of 27.8 points per contest. Also a first-team All-Pioneer District and All-Region 1C selection, Cook shot 56 percent from the floor and led the Blues in rebounds (6.9 per game), assists (4.6) and steals (3.5).
Glass, who also earned first team all-district and all-region distinction, was named to the all-state second team after shooting 64 percent from the field and averaging 14.7 points per game for the Blues this season. The senior forward led PM with 28 blocks while grabbing 6.2 rebounds and snatching 2.3 steals per contest.
