Rachel Clark, (630)
Thank you to Laura Hotinger, Tim Hodges and Casey Clark for leading music on Sunday at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church. The children practiced bells and music on Sunday after worship and are preparing a song for Easter Sunday. The session met for their monthly meeting as well. The session voted to send the first quarter investment income tithe to support Project Horizon and Hope House. The church will also be supporting the individuals from New Monmouth participating in the Baja Mission Trip as well as the mission as a whole that is sponsored by the Shenandoah Presbytery.
The carpet had been installed in the sanctuary and painting has been completed. A huge thank you to Tim Welsh and Casey Clark for putting down plywood in the vestibule to allow the carpet to the installed! The pews will be screwed down in the coming weeks and the piano will be moved back into the sanctuary as well. Thanks to all who have supported our sprucing up efforts!
There is a confirmation class for grades seven and up and those looking to explore and deepen their faith on select Sundays after church. Please let Casey know as soon as possible if your youth will be participating.
Bible study is Mondays at 1 p.m. at the Clark house. We are studying Ephesians.
There is a clean-up day at church at the bottom of the hill to prepare for a walking path on March 28 at 9 a.m. Wear gloves, long pants and closed-toe shoes. We will have a Dumpster on site to collect debris.
New Monmouth will host a sunrise service on Easter morning at 7 on Hotinger Hill (Fredericksburg Road). A breakfast will follow at New Monmouth in the fellowship hall. Please sign up to contribute to our breakfast items.
