March 6, 2026 Editor, The News-Gazette: Our family would like to thank VDOT and all their workers who toiled 24/7 during the snowfalls and ice storms this winter, keeping our roads open, allowing a semblance of normal business and life to continue.
Without the ability of fire and rescue to access homes and businesses, some of us would have been in deep trouble. Inability to shop for food, reach medical and dental appointments, jobs and classes could have been the scenario if not for VDOT’s efforts.
