Soul Food Luncheon At First Baptist
First Baptist Church will conclude the celebration of African American Heritage Month on Sunday, March 1, at 11 a.m. by welcoming Dr. Michael Hill, director of the DeLaney Center and chair of the African studies department at Washington and Lee University. Hill will give a spotlight on African-American history.
A complimentary soul food luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the service.
First Baptist Church, located 103 North Main St. in downtown Lexington, is the oldest independent African-American church in Lexington with its organization date in September 1867. The Rev. McKinley Williams is the current pastor.
