Why This Redaction?

Feb. 16, 2026

Editor, The News-Gazette: A member of the Congressional committee investigating the Epstein case was puzzled by a redaction engineered by the self-proclaimed “most transparent administration in history” when he read something like “... meeting. But no, I XXXXX think I can come.” (Pause for a moment and consider what could possibly fit into that short redaction; then continue reading.)

Now consider a highly sophisticated, AI-generated program tasked with ferreting out any references to our “Denier-in-Chief” and redacting even relatively obtuse ones.

If you guessed the most obvious way to complete the redacted sentence above, you will realize what the program was blocking: “DON T.” Now ask why would it do that?
