The Lexington Woman’s Club invites the community to enjoy an afternoon of sweets for a meaningful cause at its annual Just Desserts fundraiser this Sunday, Feb. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Virginia Horse Center.
The event will feature an array of homemade and professionally prepared desserts, including mini cupcakes, scones, cookies, mini muffins, brownies and macarons, donated by local bakers. In addition, attendees can also participate in a silent auction showcasing more than 70 items, ranging from home décor and gift certificates to artwork and specialty items.
Proceeds from the event help fund scholarships for graduating seniors from Rockbridge County High School, county preschool and HeadStart book donations, local kindergarten teachers’ “wish lists” and more.
“We look forward to Just Desserts every year,” said Mel Botulinski, event chair. “It’s a wonderful way for the community to come together, enjoy some delicious, sweet treats, support our local bakers and business owners and help us to give back to our community in a meaningful way.”
