Well, I’m sure we’re all happy to see warmer temps and the melting of the snow and ice at last. Don’t get too comfortable because we still have some winter to get through.
Town Hall has changed its hours to better take care of business. It was announced at the last Council meeting that Town Hall will now be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Ashley Kerr and Libby Smith will work part time, sharing duties at the front desk. Fred Smith will be working part time as code enforcement officer beginning March 16.
Vehicle decals for 2026 go on sale March 1. Notices went out in the last water bill.
The old storage shed at the former Loughhead Building Supply became a victim of the heavy snow and ice and collapsed under the weight.
The town continues remodeling the former Presbyterian Church, with new flooring, and removal of the pews that will go to a church in Lynchburg.
The congregation of Glasgow Baptist Church enjoyed a time of fellowship and food following morning worship this past week in the new/old social area on the main floor. Rockbridge Flooring finished putting new flooring down on the main level, the stairs and upstairs of the Sunday school part of the church. Work continues to complete the bathrooms on both levels, as well as other minor projects.
