Jan. 11, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: I was extremely disappointed on my way home from church Sunday. I witnessed several of my fellow citizens who chose to display their displeasure with our county’s law enforcement officers and their duty to deport individuals who have entered our country illegally.
These are the same fellow citizens that a few months ago were critical of President Trump calling for a “No King’s Day.” They were critical of some of his actions, calling them unlawful and “against our Constitution.”
Now these same individuals are upset that President Trump and members appointed to his administration are carrying out the federal laws of our country.
Do they even know what they stand for? Rather than support our federal law enforcement officers, they are showing support for violent criminals here illegally who have murdered, raped, committed sex and drug trafficking, ignored their deportation orders and other violated laws.
If there is a law you don’t agree with, work to change the law. Don’t insult and attack our federal law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line to enforce our laws that were passed to protect American citizens. JAN LOWRY Lexington
