Kerrs Creek

Rachel Clark, (630) 6079938 [email protected]

Thank you to the Ukeladies plus Ray Blouin who led the worship song “As the Deer” on Sunday morning at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church. And thanks to Sara Dunlap for playing piano for the service. The choir provided the offertory, singing “My Heart is Filled.” Pastor Casey Clark continued our study of the book of Genesis, preaching from Genesis 13.

Thank you to all who encouraged and prayed for the youth and their leaders as they practiced fasting together.

There are a lot of events coming up over the next couple of months. All friends and neighbors are invited to join us for these opportunities to grow closer to one another and to our Savior, Jesus.

On Sunday at 5 p.m. there will be a Thanksgiving service at New Monmouth. On Nov. 30 at the 11 a.m. service we will celebrate the beginning of Advent and have special music for Music Sunday. Let the Clarks know if you wish to participate and share music.

On Dec. 7, the Clarks host their annual Christmas Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. Stop by any time, and please bring family or friends along to enjoy snacks and goodies! Dec. 9 is the Christmas luncheon at noon at church. Let Rachel know by Dec. 5 if you are able to attend. Lunch will be provided by the Tuesday morning prayer group. This luncheon is for everyone! Join us Dec. 17 for Christmas caroling to homebound residents. Meet at New Monmouth at 2 p.m. We will make plates of cookies to deliver, so if you have a dozen or two of cookies to share, we will assemble plates at church before departing for caroling. We will likely divide into two groups that will each carol at two or three houses and then all will meet at Kendal to do little caroling there.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, Dec. 21, when we will have a pop-up Nativity during the worship service. Grab a church-provided costume before the service and be ready to participate in the “popup” nativity during our worship service. We will read and act out the Christmas story together.

We will have our Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24. Hope you will also come out to New Monmouth on Dec. 31 for our New Year’s Jazz Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Finger foods and treats will be served as we hear from local jazz musicians, some from our very own congregation.

Looking ahead to 2026, New Monmouth invites any ladies to attend a one-day Women’s Conference on Saturday, Jan. 24. The theme of the conference is Sabbath and Rest. More details are forthcoming.
