Local residents enjoy the Natural Bridge Ruritan Club’s annual Halloween cakewalk and raffle on Oct. 25. This event is the club’s one big fundraiser for the year and provides college scholarships, fifth grade awards, copies of the constitution for seventh-graders and other activities. This year’s event raised over $11,000. A spokesperson said the club was feeling the absence of two significant members who died this year: Bob Gilbert in February and Dane West in October. Both were very active members of NBRC and held various positions, including past presidents. The spokesperson also noted that the club voted in two new members this quarter: Chris Conger andAngie Crummett.
