Saturday, Oct. 25 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Chessie

Trail Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 26.2 Relay, sponsored by Friends Of The Chessie Trail with all proceeds to be used for trail improvements; walkers welcome in 5K, 10K, and half races; for more information and to register go to www. runthechessie.org.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Faith Mountain Baptist Church fall festival, with vendors, food, bounce houses, a kid zone and crafts, 370 Valley Pike.

10 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Let’s Rock with Rockbridge Recovery community event ; starting at 11:45 a.m., there will be rotating bands and guest speakers; for kids, there will be a bouncy obstacle course, a Nerf war, sack races and more; food will be available and an all-day raffle will be held; stay after the event for a free community movie presented by Hull’s Drive-In, at the drive-in.

1 to 5 p.m. – Goshen Fall Festival, sponsored by the town of Goshen, field behind municipal building.

3 to 4:30 p.m. – Trunk or treat event, sponsored by the Effinger community churches and the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department, firehouse parking lot.

6 p.m. – Halloween cakewalk and raffle, doors open at 5, Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department; tickets for the raffle are still available, find us on Facebook or send email to ruritanrbdge@ gmail.com.

1:30 p.m. – Talk, Retired U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne Division to speak at VMI’s Cameron Hall.

5:30-7 p.m. – First meeting of the new “Revolutionary Reading Group, 1776-2026, Rockbridge Regional Library.

Friday, Oct. 31 3:30 to 5 p.m. – Downtown Lexington Trick or Treat 4 to 6 p.m. – Spooktacular, downtown Buena Vista.

8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Sam Houston Ruritan Club’s Fall Bazaar , the Auction Barn located at 1260 Valley Pike; all proceeds go towards the high school scholarship program.”

4 to 6 p.m. – Family game night, board games, cards and more, drinks and snacks provided, children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, Floyd-Davidson Post 126 American Legion Hall, Buena Vista.

Tuesday, Nov. 11

10:30 a.m. – Veterans Day Parade, all veterans invited to participate, parade starts at Oak Grove Cemetery and ends at the Veterans Memorial in courthouse square.

Saturday, Nov. 15

10:30 to 11:30 a.m. - Program, “Heirloom Apples” with Regina Donald from Wilbourn House Orchard, Piovano Room, Lexington branch of the Rockbridge Regional Library, sponsored by Master Gardeners.
